"Licensing Property Management Firms & Property Managers"

Government MUST License & Regulate Property Management/Managers NOT ACMO | Online Petition

The Condo Owners Association was formed to represent Condo Owners and advocate for their rights.   Condo Boards and Property Management Firms to include on-site Property Managers may, in many circumstances run the affairs of the Corporation in non-compliance of the Condominium Act 1998.   It is very common for some Boards to rely on information and/or even recommendations they receive from their Property Manager which may prevent Condo Owners from exercising their rights ie. compromising proxy forms, withholding the records of the Corporation and many times ignore Owners requests.

The Ministry of Consumer Services have recognized an overwhelming numbers of complaints from Condo Owners as a direct result of the actions of the Board of Directors and Property Managers plus Property Management Firms.   Governance and licensing of Property Managements companies and Property Managers CANNOT be done by Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO).  It is a DIRECT CONFLICT OF INTEREST and compromises Condominium Owners and Condo Corporations.
